Looking Back at the Favorit

The North West section’s Favorit has recently featured on a professional YouTube video following the section’s involvement with the opening of a revamped showroom. The DM Keith showroom in York has been the recipient of a unprecedented investment which has transformed the site into a state of art car retailer facility.

Ron Makin, North West section Chairman, went along to the opening with his 1992 Skoda Favorit 136LS. The Favorit, known affectionately in the Section as Lady Grey, drew lots of attention. Ron was approached by a classic car journalist Paul Woodford (@classicsdriven) who was keen to experience more of Lady Grey. Ron was only too happy to oblige and you can see the results below.

“It was great to share the Lady Grey experience with Paul” Ron recalls. “He particularly enjoyed the nostalgia associated with driving in such an original car. We were proud to support DM Keith on this momentous day in their history.”

Ron and his Section will be welcoming the national Club in September when they host the AGM in Manchester. Lady Grey will be present and perhaps a few kind words in Ron’s direction will grant you a ride out in this most immaculate of Favorits.
